The Houston Texans Youth Football Camps presented by Under Armour are coming up this summer! Tackle and flag football camps are open for kids ages 8 to 14 years old. Register for Youth Football Camps under the Kids tab at HoustonTexans.com.

More than 385 student-athletes representing 120 area high schools participated in the showcase, which provided an opportunity for local area high school seniors who did not sign Division I scholarship letters to showcase their skills and academic prowess to Division II, III and NAIA colleges to receive scholarship offers to continue their education. The event is free of charge to the student-athletes and to the colleges and universities.  In 2011, there were 27 colleges/universities who attended and 208 participants received scholarship offers.
 

Texans High School Coach of the Year
This year’s Houston Texans 2013 Coach of the Year award winner is Coach Gary Joseph of Katy High School. Coach Joseph and the Tigers finished with 15-1 record and 5A Division-II State Championship appearance. 

High School Player Development Camp (HSPD) - Methodist Training Center
40 Houston-area high school football players congregated at Reliant Stadium for the NFLs High School Player Development Program. The seven-hour event provided participants with an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills through a character development presentation with NFL Player Engagements Player Prep, competitive exercises and a community service activity at the Houston Food Bank. Reliant Stadium Bayou Bowl Practice and Tour –Reliant Stadium and Methodist Training Center
Texas and Louisiana high school all-stars participating in the Bayou Bowl practice at the Methodist Training Center and are treated to a behind-the-scenes tour of Reliant Stadium.

Texans NFL Flag Football - Ongoing
Available nationwide, including all NFL team cities, NFL Flag provides an opportunity for boys and girls ages 5-17 to become involved with football. Thousands of Houston-area youths are involved in leagues that run during the fall and spring and are organized through local youth groups. NFL Flag offers young players non-contact, continuous action and lessons in teamwork. NFL Flag requires minimal equipment, which includes NFL team jerseys and footballs.

Texans NFL PUNT, PASS & KICK - Ongoing
The NFL Punt, Pass & Kick program is the NFL's premier youth skills competition consisting of punting, passing and placekicking. The program creates a lively and engaging forum for boys and girls ages 8-15 to compete separately against their peers. The NFL wants every child to be given an equal opportunity to compete. Therefore, there is no registration fee or purchase required for any participant to enter.

  Houston Texans Youth Football Directory – Ongoing
Over 80 area youth football leagues are registered with the Texans Youth Football Directory. With the directory, the Texans are able provide youth leagues with special offers, locate leagues for new players, disperse information about upcoming events to youth league administrators, coaches and parents, and address the general needs of the youth football community.

Reliant Energy Scholarship for Champions
Each year, Reliant Energy partners with the Houston Texans to award scholarships to eight (8) Houston-area high school student-athletes who have exhibited remarkable leadership in athletics, academics and community involvement. This year we have raised the scholarship amount to $5,000 so students can better pursue their dreams with fewer economic limitations.
